The idea for this project stemmed from listening to a radio interview in which the subject commented on how often people with disabilities are first seen through their disability, as opposed to through their personality. The interview really struck a chord with us and sparked the desire to create this personal project. ‘Able’ is a series of images that will focus on portraying the differently-abled as the everyday, active people they are, with talents, hobbies and compelling personalities. We’re only a few months in, and we have already met so many inspiring, wonderful people and discovered worlds we never knew existed.
